Hello, my offbeat friends! I hope the new year has been full of glorious escapades and adventures, if it hasn't, well then lets instead look forward the fast-approaching solace that the spring days promise.
As you may have noticed, my hiatus ended up lasting quite a bit longer than I had originally planned. About a month and a half longer to be a bit more precise. If we are being honest, I was not sure that the hiatus would not take a more permanent etching in stone. To even air out all the laundry, it was until about three minutes ago, that I had lost any and all intention of continuing my brave path forward in the blog realm. I have no idea what changed between this currently-typing-self and the I-give-up-self that was perfectly content to retire from my short-lived blog career. Instead of questioning this sudden inspiration, I have let my fingers dance about to the beat of my brain striking the keyboard wherever they feel is right.
Truthfully, these first months of the year seemed to have an opposite effect on me than it did to the typical human. While people began ramping up with the hopes of growth, new goals and fresh-faced intentions for the unknown pages of 2025, I showed up to the new year in sweatpants with a "mid-year" attitude towards life. You know which one I am talking about-- that mid-year time when the hope of a "new year, new you" has devastatingly crumbled and the approaching year is still too far out on the horizon to be excited for the next go at a better future you. Well, mid-year me rolled right into 2025 and immediately lost all motivation and desire to upkeep my side piece (aka this creative hobby). I lost all interest in playing around with my paints and pencils, leaving my art desk to begin the new year in a very lonely and dusty state. Instead, I lost my nose to a book worm, that has savagely kept me chasing after it throughout the exciting pages of 17 books. So, one cannot say I haven't been dedicated, it just seems I have taken a turn from creating creativity to consuming it, which has been quite an enjoyable switch up for me.
Perhaps my taking up this weekly endeavor once again is evidence of a reigniting flame in my creative adventures. Perhaps this hiatus from creating was much needed. One thing, however, is for sure, and that is that I am glad to have found fresh ink once again and can't wait to pen these future offbeat anecdotes.
I look forwards to staying offbeat with you next week. Thanks again for following and I can't wait to see what is in store for us!
As Always,
Keep it offbeat!
